I enjoy the out-of-doors and prefer the Sierra foothills or the Pacific coast. The serenity of the mountains and the ocean help offset the attack on our senses by today's hectic world.

Day Trips
California's back roads are a journey into history. The roads-less-traveled will lead to museums, antique shops and fantastic scenery and are available everywhere for the price of a tank of gas. Such trips are best experienced with a friend who sees the world through different eyes.

Road Trips
I really enjoy historical destinations. Among my favorites have been Chaco Canyon in New Mexico and the Gold Rush communities of central California. Also, I still enjoy Disneyland after all these years and (I admit) still know the words to It's a Small World. An occasional trip to visit my money in Reno, Tahoe or Vegas is also in my playbook.

I have been an amateur genealogist for over 30 years and have traced both sides of my family tree back over 200 years. I enjoy visiting museums, antique shops and historical places anywhere. |
