Theatre
I grew up in a well-known theater family in Beijing, China, received my doctoral degree in theater and comparative literature from Indiana University, and developed a passion to all things related to theater and art. I published books on Chinese drama history and now volunteer to teach theater to a broader audience. I also give after-show talks at local theaters.

Family and friends are essential part of my life. To me, social life is as important as intellectual life. I cook dinner for my family and friends and also enjoy dining out with them. Having a great conversation is as good as reading a good book or having a great swim.

I swim, walk, garden, and go to the gym 4 times a week. I like the beach, national parks, day trips, weekend getaways, movie theater, art and food festivals, history museums, and meeting with friends and my students for a fun conversation. |
