tw i grew up in a family of artists, a bunch of ?Do it yourself? people. My mother had broken a necklace and decided to buy a few basic tools to fix it herself. While she was in the art store she grew inspired and ended up bringing home some beads and earring making tools as well.
She came home and set the supplies out on the table to fix her necklace. After she was done she got up to go do some chores, leaving the treasure trove of tools laid out on the table. Me, being a curious toddler, came into the room, stood on a chair, and looked out over the sea of sparkles and wires and crimps and lobster claws. I picked up a sparkling blue bead and an already crimped piece of wire and just? threaded it. The bead fell to the bottom of the wire immediately, an instant obedience.
I looked at the bead, sparkling and twirling in the air. I looked at the completed necklace lying on the table. And something just? clicked.
I thought to myself, ?This is how that was made. It's not so hard.?
?It's beautiful.?
By the time my mother had returned half an hour later I had made three completed necklaces, ready for sale. LOL
